Lisa brings a comprehensive and diverse marketing and communications background to the Cowboy Connection, where she manages strategic and tactical communications, advertising campaigns, marketing projects and public relations for her current clients. She has won national awards in advertising, graphic design, writing and photography throughout her 24-year-career.

 

She began her career as the executive secretary of the Arkansas Beef Council and director of beef promotions for the nation’s largest state cattlemen’s association — Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association. Then her roots came calling. Having shown Herefords and black baldies since kindergarten and serving on the American Junior Hereford Association board of directors, Lisa accepted the position as associate editor of Hereford World and became managing editor within three months. Later in her career, she expanded and supervised association communications. Lisa moved back to Oklahoma and held several positions with Oklahoma State University including the coordinator of student success in the animal science department and communication/marketing specialist positions for the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and Oklahoma County OSU Cooperative Extension Service. Lisa also gained valuable experience with two marketing and public relations agencies, serving clients in the animal health, dairy and agricultural technology sectors. She served as marketing supervisor for the Chickasaw Nation, marketing their feature film, Te Ata, to multiple awards in film festivals across the country. Lisa later worked as a small business advisor for the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service and Oklahoma Small Business Development Center. Lisa now coordinates the marketing and social media efforts of the OKSBDC on a part-time basis.

 

Lisa founded the Cowboy Connection Designs & Communications in 1999. She has generated a wide range of award-winning products for 130 companies in industries from agriculture to food to animal health products to tourism and more.

 

Holding two degrees in animal science and ag communications from Oklahoma State University, Lisa was a member of the reserve national champion livestock and meat teams and served as a state 4-H officer. Active in multiple organizations, she was recognized as the top animal science senior, top 10 in the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and top 1% of seniors campus-wide.

 

Active in the agriculture and marketing profession, Lisa has served as president of the Livestock Publications Council and the Oklahoma State University Animal Science Alumni Association. She has served on the public relations sub-committee of National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and is a member of the National Agri-Marketing Association. Lisa remains an active partner in her family’s cow-calf, pecan, hay and specialty crop operation in south central Oklahoma as well as the family’s gourmet

pecan and food store. Along with raising Herefords and black baldies, Lisa is building a quality herd of Boer goats, and markets goat milk soap at Bryant Pecan Company.
